Synergy

Use your squad's synergy to your advantage

Your characters have personalities of their own and can synergize with other like-minded ones. Their personality is defined by traits that are part of your NFT. Mouse Heroes and Ghost Villains have traits that tells us a little bit more about their personality and temperament. A squad consists of up to 3 Mouse Heroes or Ghost Villains, and synergy buffs will be applied as long as 2 characters have matching traits. You can also match several different traits within the team, as long as 2 of the heroes share the same trait.
By pairing Mouse Heroes and Ghost Villains with the same traits, they form a synergy and gain a significant buff to their farm rate, making them farm more efficiently as a team. The increase in farming can actually be stacked, so make sure that your squad of 3 contains as many combinations as possible! It's important to note that Characters of higher rarities are jealous, so characters with the same outfit do not like each other. This means that on the Lock and Load mode, Legendary and/or Epic Mouse Heroes with the same full outfit (same hat and same torso) will not have synergy bonus. On the other hand, Commons and Rares are fine with any outfit, they can have synergy even if they are exactly the same.
Ghost Villains and Mouse Heroes can have the same hat, but never the same outfit because Ghost Villains don't wear shirts, and Mouse Heroes won't drop their gun, no matter how many times you ask. That means they never have the same outfit and can always synergize, given they have synergizing traits.

Examples:

2 Legendary of the same type, with same full outfit: No Synergy - A Legendary Pirate Mouse Hero DOES NOT have synergy with another Legendary Pirate Mouse Hero. - A Legendary Princess Ghost DOES NOT have synergy with another Legendary Princess Ghost. Legendary Ghost and Legendary Mouse: Has Synergy - A Legendary Pirate Mouse Hero HAS have synergy with a Legendary Pirate ghost. 2 Epic same full outfit: No Synergy - Pirate hat + Princess hand DOES NOT have synergy with another Pirate hat + Princess hand. 2 Epic different outfit: Has Synergy - Pirate hat + Princess torso HAS synergy with Princess hat + Pirate torso. 2 Epic same hat, but different torso: Has Synergy - Pirate hat + Princess torso HAS synergy with Pirate hat + Baker torso. 2 Epic different hat, but same torso: Has Synergy - Wizard Hat + French torso HAS synergy with Mariachi hat + French torso.
Common and Rare Characters do not care about outfits. They can have synergy even if they are exactly the same!

Synergy Rules and Examples

Synergy is an important mechanic that allows you to boost your squad farm to their maximum potential. Not every character has personality traits, but if your does, it should be easy to find by inspecting your NFT. Here are some important rules about how to synergize your squad:
(A) In order to gain synergy you will need at least 2 character in a squad with matching traits. A Character that has 2 of the same traits does not grant you more synergy. You will need at least another character with the same trait to receive the boost.
  • Example: 1 Mouse Hero with a Clever and Clever trait in a squad of other 2 Heroes that do not have the Clever trait will not get a synergy bonus.
(B) 2 different characters, Mouse Heroes or Ghost Villans, with the same trait will generate a synergy bonus.
  • Example: 1 Mouse Hero with the Drunk+Foodie traits and another hero with a Drunk+Insomniac traits will give your squad the synergy bonus since 2 heroes share the Drunk trait.
  • Edge case: It's important to note that Mouse Heroes with exactly the same outfit (hat and torso) do not like each other. This means that on the Lock and Load mode, Legendary/Epic Mouse Heroes with the same outfit will not have synergy bonus. Commons and Rares do not care about outfits. They can have synergy even if they are aesthetically exactly the same!
(C) 3 different characters sharing the same traits will generate the best synergy bonus to your squad.
  • Example: A legendary squad where all 3 Mouse Heroes have the Adventure and the Drunk trait.
Currently, there are 6 types of synergy. The synergy type ranking can be seen below:

Traits distribution per rarity

Mouse heroes and Ghost Villains have different number of traits based on their rarity, so the better your character, the better their trait distribution will be. Characters of different rarities can gain synergy as long as they have matching traits. These traits are tied to the outfit that your Character is wearing. In case you're trying to fine tune your squad and is wondering which rarity would work the best, here's a breakdown of trait distribution based on their rarity:
Common Characters: Can have 0 to 1 traits.
Rare Characters: Can have 1 to 2 traits. They can have the same trait in one hero.
Epic Characters: Will always have 2 traits. They can have the same trait in one hero.
Legendary Characters: Will always have 2 different traits.
